System requirements

  • Any computer that runs a current Chrome runs the game. Graphics adjust themselves (Settings → Map → Graphics).
  • 4 GB of memory; 8 GB for very large cities.
  • An internet connection to build a new city (map data comes from OpenStreetMap) and once every 14 days to check your licence. Playing an existing city works offline.

Updates

On Windows and Linux the game updates itself. On macOS it tells you when a new version is out: download it here and replace the app. Your saved games stay where they are.

First time opening it

The game isn't sold through Apple's or Microsoft's stores, so your computer asks once whether you trust it.

Installing on macOS

Open the downloaded file and drag Transit Constructor into Applications. The first time, right-click (or Control-click) the app, choose Open, then Open again. If macOS still refuses, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.

Installing on Windows

If a blue “Windows protected your PC” box appears, click More info, then Run anyway.

Installing on Linux

Make the AppImage executable (right-click → Properties → Allow executing, or chmod +x) and run it.
